About Recticel Group
Recticel is a Belgian insulation Group operating in Europe and the USA. With a portfolio covering insulation boards, insulated panels and acoustic solutions, the Group offers smart insulation solutions that advance a carbon-free economy for a better quality of life. It employs over 1,250 people with operations spread over seven countries and the CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) added Recticel to its 2024 A list for Climate Change.
The Challenge
By 2021, Recticel was undergoing a major transformation of its IT landscape, driven by the need to integrate new cloud-based applications with its core ERP system. At that time, the company was still using its existing on premise middleware, SAP PI, to manage integrations across systems.
Although this integration product had supported Recticel’s operations for several years, it had significant limitations. SAP PI operated primarily as a point-to-point tool, allowing connections between individual applications but offered no way to orchestrate complex, multi-step processes. Recticel needed a solution that would reduce integration complexity, enable better process orchestration and error handling across its interfaces.
The Solution
Recticel moved to SAP Integration Suite and extended it in 2025 with TheValueChain’s enhanced Go Beyond Integration Monitoring tool launched as an SaaS solution, providing the foundation for a more agile and sustainable integration strategy.
Although the on premise monitoring tool had been used within the organisation for several years, launching it on the cloud-native platform means Recticel will not only gain a range of new functionalities but also benefit from a subscription-based SaaS model that enables continuous upgrades and ongoing maintenance.
In phase one, TheValueChain configured and activated the necessary connectivity in a few days. Once the initial setup was complete, the solution could be activated immediately. In phase two, it delivered hands-on enablement and training to ensure the internal team understood the platform’s capabilities. TheValueChain outlined typical integrations and demonstrated how to build and maintain them using modular building blocks, while also providing governance on naming conventions.
GoBeyond Integration Monitoring now plays a central role in maintaining Recticel’s business-critical integration flows, with the system already monitoring more than 150,000 messages per month—and growing rapidly. The IT team can easily connect API-based interfaces for all SAP and non-SAP systems, benefiting from advanced monitoring, troubleshooting and control capabilities. They also gain real-time visibility into whether data has been successfully delivered to target systems, enabling quick issue resolution. The ability to reprocess failed flows is particularly valuable in preventing operational disruption.
Recticel can now work independently moving forward. The knowledge transfer has empowered its IT team to confidently build, maintain and extend integrations themselves, ensuring long-term autonomy and sustainability.
What’s next
Recticel plans to extend the monitoring tool beyond the IT team, making it available to selected business users. The upcoming rollout of e-invoicing in Belgium is expected to be the first step. As digital invoices become mandatory, the accounting team will need visibility into incoming and outgoing invoice flows to ensure successful delivery and processing through the middleware. Giving them a focused view of the monitoring tool will enable faster follow-up and greater process ownership, without relying on the IT department.
Benefits
Ease of cloud-native automation
New features and improvements are delivered automatically, ensuring Recticel always works with the latest capabilities. The platform is supported by clear online documentation and a standardised ticketing system, making it easier to request assistance when needed.
Transparency across middleware
The tool provides complete visibility into all activity across the middleware environment, directly supporting the IT team’s work. Integrating new iflows on the platform is extremely quick, freeing up valuable time for the IT team to focus on higher-value tasks.
User-friendly design
GoBeyond Integration Monitoring is intuitive, easy to learn and highly configurable. Its simplicity allows the team to adopt it quickly and use it effectively without extensive training.
Ease of personalisation
Each team member can personalise their own views based on the systems or processes they manage. For example, the team member responsible for Salesforce integrations can create a dedicated view showing only Salesforce-related flows, excluding those related to finance or other domains. These custom views can even be published as tiles for quick access, making daily monitoring more efficient and tailored to each user’s responsibilities.
