Libeert partners with TheValueChain to streamline Supplier Invoice Management (SIM) with SAP S/4HANA Cloud
Automated supplier invoice creation enhances efficiency, minimises processing time and supports growth.

Libeert has partnered with TheValueChain to enhance the efficiency of its supplier invoice management and reduce processing times through the implementation of an automated Supplier Invoice Management tool. Handling approximately 7,000 supplier invoices annually and with further growth driven by expansion into the UK chocolate market, Libeert required a scalable solution to manage increasing invoice volumes seamlessly.
The company selected TheValueChain for its proprietary fit-to-standard Supplier Invoice Management tool, which ensures accurate data entry and integrates directly with Libeert’s upcoming SAP S4HANA Cloud transition, set for completion by June 2026.
Rich functionality for fast, automated invoice processing
The SIM tool is functionally rich and eliminates the need to rely on Excel for manual invoice posting and approvals. It will handle invoice checks automatically, verifying whether a purchase order exists. If there is no purchase order or goods have not arrived, then a notification alerts the right person to complete the goods receipt process in SAP.
Currently, manual emails and updating Excel takes Libeert’s accounting team time and effort to complete. The tool will not only free up their time but improve accuracy through the automated workflows.
Julie highlights, “When we asked the accounting team which tasks they found most tedious, they highlighted supplier invoice processing. They’re excited about the move to the SIM because it means they can focus on tasks that add real value to the company, rather than mundane activities such as triple-checking invoices.”
AI for intelligent document processing
A further advantage of choosing the SIM tool from TheValueChain is the IDP module (Intelligent Document Processing), which uses AI and OCR (Optical Character Recognition) to read and process PDFs. Built by TheValueChain’s third-party partner, it sits within the SIM tool to extract data from invoices automatically. This means that Libeert will be able to use this module for other tasks beyond invoice processing, such as reading PDFs and turning the information into transactions.
As the AI-enabled tool processes more invoices, it will learn to recognise different suppliers and improve its accuracy. This will result in fewer errors and faster processing as the system continues to learn and adapt.
Accelerated speed to value
The tool is set to go live at the beginning of June 2026, once S/4HANA Cloud is fully implemented. Explore workshops will ensure the scope is fully mapped out with specific finance fit-to standard elements built in. These will be followed by a discovery workshop to provide full documentation, explanation and configuration/fine-tuning.
Once S/4HANA Cloud is implemented, the tool will be activated in minutes. The automated workflows in SIM mean the accounting team will be able to create invoices directly in SAP S/4HANA Cloud, dramatically speeding up processing times and improving accuracy. This will allow end-to-end visibility and transparency for the business, supporting Libeert as it continues its growth journey.
“We’re proud to welcome Libeert, a renowned Belgian chocolate company, as a new customer of our Supplier Invoice Management (SIM) solution. Built natively for S/4HANA Cloud, SIM requires no integration, connects to Peppol access points like SAP DRC and Descartes, and can be operational overnight, delivering immediate value. This will enable Libeert to scale faster and significantly improve accounts payable efficiency.” David Jacobs, Partner & Product Director at TheValueChain
