Arvesta boosts efficiency, visibility and seamless data flow with GoBeyond Integration Monitoring
Arvesta implemented GoBeyond Integration Monitoring from TheValueChain, built on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)
and designed to seamlessly integrate with the SAP Integration Suite.

Highlights
- Arvesta improves efficiency as exceptions handling decreases from 600 a day to less than 300 a week.
- Arvesta quickly identifies recurring data issues and drives lasting fixes that lower exception volumes
- Non-technical business users manage exceptions directly, reducing the need for technical expertise.
- Seamless data flow ensures reliable customer delivery and minimises the risk of delays or missed transactions.
About Arvesta
Arvesta is a leading Belgian agricultural business, providing sustainable, innovative digital solutions to support farmers and growers. Operating across Belgium, Netherlands, France and Germany, and with over 2,000 employees, Arvesta offers both professional and consumer-focused products and services and is active in animal nutrition, agriculture and horticulture, machinery and flour. Arvesta also well known for its 200 Aveve retail shops.
The Challenge
Arvesta’s diverse operations, from retail to innovative B2B solutions, bring a complex ecosystem of applications and interconnected processes, all of which are dependent on seamless data flow and integration.
Each week, approximately 5 million data messages are exchanged across Arvesta’s systems. While the vast majority are processed successfully, even a tiny failure rate (as low as 0.001%) can result in hundreds of exceptions, sometimes as many as 600 per day. These exceptions require manual intervention to ensure that the data which has failed, continues to move correctly from one point to another, avoiding any risk of incomplete or delayed business transactions.
Arvesta wanted to elevate its exceptions handling process, improve control and inject more efficient troubleshooting capability into its integrations and workflows to ensure no messages were stuck or missed. Comprehensive monitoring of integrations and data error messaging also needed to be accessible to both technical and non-technical users, reducing the need for more specialised staff.
The Solution
To support its complex landscape of integrations, that also extended beyond SAP, Arvesta had been using the standard SAP Integration Suite for several years. While effective for managing technical integrations, its native workflow tools for handling exceptions were limited. In addition, monitoring required IT expertise to manually track and interpret highly technical error messages, leaving business users dependent on technical teams for root cause analysis and resolution.
Arvesta implemented GoBeyond Integration Monitoring from TheValueChain, built on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and designed to seamlessly integrate with the SAP Integration Suite. Effectively sitting on top of Arvesta’s existing integration landscape, GoBeyond Integration Monitoring translates complex, technical monitoring into business-friendly insights.
Transforming technical error codes into functional, context-rich messages allows business users to easily understand and report on. For example, instead of an unreadable system error such as “HTTP 500 5XA”, the product translates it into a clear, actionable message such as “missing order quantity in sales order” or “material code not found.” Business teams can then identify and resolve issues directly, without the need to involve a more technical specialist.
Launched earlier this year, around 30 business users and service desk-oriented staff are now using the tool to manage exceptions themselves, significantly reducing the need for technical expertise. When an issue is fixed, such as updating master data, the user can reprocess the message with one click, without performing technical API calls or complex troubleshooting. Arvesta is also able to turn to The Value Chain service desk directly for more complex resolutions needed.
The Integration Monitoring tool provides greater visibility and control across the organisation, allowing staff to monitor message flows in real time, track performance against SLAs, generate reports and reduce recurring errors. The enhanced exceptions handling process means Arvesta can maintain its data integrity, respond faster to issues and manage its high volume integrations with confidence.
Wim Cools, Team Lead of the SAP Centre of Competence and Integrations at Arvesta, highlights, “As an early adopter of GoBeyond Integration Monitoring, we were integral to help getting the product to a point where it has the capability to give us much greater control and visibility over our interconnected data processes. We can now see exactly what’s happening week by week, manage exceptions before they become a backlog and ensure everything is resolved within our service timelines. We can also identify which exceptions are our top offenders, analyse recurring issues and focus our energy on reducing the overall volume of errors.”
Benefits
Increased trust
With millions of messages flowing between systems every week, Arvesta is confident that each data message, from online orders to warehouse and transport updates, runs as intended, minimising the risk of delays or missed transactions.
Enhanced customer experience
Identifying and resolving exceptions quickly and proactively means the organisation can ensure that every order, such as a customer’s online pet food order, is processed and delivered without unnecessary delay, driving customer satisfaction and experience.
Greater operational control
By gaining full visibility into all integrations, Arvesta can take swift action, proactively monitoring message flows, managing exceptions, and preventing unresolved errors, ensuring that critical business processes remain reliable and on track
Continuous improvement of ‘top offenders’ / recurring issues
The business can easily identify recurring issues or ‘top offenders’, allowing staff to prioritise problem areas and carry out root cause analysis, creating long-term fixes that reduce overall exception volumes.
Empowering key business users
By translating technical error messages into functional, more user-friendly language, GoBeyond Integration Monitoring empowers non-technical users to manage and reprocess exceptions, reducing reliance on technical teams and enabling faster issue resolution.
Working with TheValueChain
“Working with TheValueChain has been a great experience. Their team of experts took the time to understand our challenges and deliver strong solutions to us. Before, we were handling over 600 exceptions every day, which required two people working almost full time. Now, we’re down to about 300 per week, which is a considerable improvement and also delivers significant cost efficiencies.”
