Different bank statement processing in S/4HANA

Before explaining the interface connection between SAP S/4HANA we need to understand that Bank statement processing in SAP S/4HANA can be handled through different methods, each offering varying levels of automation and efficiency:

  • Manual processing: In this method, the bank accountant receives the daily bank statement on paper and manually enters the relevant information (e.g., opening balance, closing balance, memo line) into the system.
  • Semi-automatic processing of electronic bank statement (EBS):  With this approach, the bank accountant downloads the electronic bank statement (EBS) from the bank platform and uploads it into the SAP S/4HANA system.
